Everybody who has worked with Business Process Management will have heard and used Process Owners as an integrated part of Business Process Management, but probably only very few will have heard of a not very often used role: IT Process Owner. In my opinion it is one of the most important roles together with the proces owner. In the perfect Business Process Management initiative, IT and Business are working closely together – using IT and innovation to optimize the Business. It is possible to do so – but it isn’t easy! Often there is a war raging between Business and IT – Business Process Management can stop the war – and start the innovation.
